Aix-en-Provence, Nîmes, Cassis
I went to Aix this past weekend with my roommate Margaux. Saturday Chiara, Margaux, Julia (one of Chiara's friends from her university) and I went to la feria de Nîmes that is going on now. There was this huge festival, tons of people, bullfighting, sangria, paella...a lot of fun. It was interesting to see some Spanish culture that has spilled over into France. I went to see la corrida de toros, which was fascinating to see, but also violent, so I left after the first bull was killed. Sunday Chiara's new roommate Florian drove us to Cassis, which is this small town on the mediterranean. It was beautiful there: brightly colored restaurants and cafes; smooth, white rock beaches and crystal clear water.

An ancient roman building.
Old roman colosseum where the corrida de toros took place.

That sign in the background creeps me out.
